From There to Here

Hi Everyone,

As I am sitting alone at my computer I am wondering what in the world do I have of interest to put in a post on a blog that anyone would want to read....Hmmmm..

Ok, here goes.
I am a grandma of two and have been around awhile, so the first thing that comes to mind is technology and how it has grown over the years.

I remember being excited about getting our first television. It was a monstrosity that took up half the living room and it was black and white.

My family was not rich, so we weren't one of the first in the neighborhood to get one. I remember thinking, at the age of about 13, how "behind the times" our family was and "when in the world would we ever have our own so I could stop going to my friends house to watch hers".

Back then, there weren't very many choices on the set for programs to watch...just mostly the "stupid stuff" my parents liked, like musicals with old people in them---that was until the night of the Ed Sullivan Show and the Beatles came to town.

OMG>>>>>> Was I impressed with them. Actually, I was in LOVE!

and NOW......I have the choice of hundreds of channels, from cartoons in TechNiColor, to Criminal investigations, to movies with all the same Old People my parents used to watch and they ALL come with commercials that take longer to view than the program itself....AHHHHH!!
technology.

Then came the VCR..Boy, what a great invention that is...ooops...forgot, now we have DVD's--well most people do, I still have a VCR player and have not upgraded to the DVD's yet.

I now have a computer with a Super Highway that can take me to anywhere in the world I want to go with anyone I want to go with, and anyway I want to get there, boat-plane-drive...Colors and black & white galore...

But the PHONES>>>>now that is something else. Everywhere I go I see a cellphone in someones hand, placed to their ear, or sitting on their desk with capabilities that I could have never even dreamed about. But what has blown me away is that you can take pictures with one, you can keep from getting lost with a GPS finder on it, (which would be great for someone like me who always said that I needed a "KIT KAR"-one that finds me when I'm lost), and if you get bored you, you can even play "Texas Hold-em". ---Please tell me you remember the "KIT KAR" driven by David whats-his-name.///

Now I have been impressed again with phones and their capabilites, by seeing that there is a way to buy and sell items items via your mobile phone. You can also send and receive money with it...Doesn't even have to be a fancy phone,,,,,, just a mobile one. If you want to know how to do this, just go to this website:

Thanks for reading this...NOW do you know where I can find the capability on a phone to help with my aging memory?..

Later,
